Isaiah 57

¹ הַThe צַּדִּיקrighteous אָבָדhath_perished וְAnd אֵיןthere_is_none אִישׁ שָׂםlaying עַלto לֵבheart וְAnd אַנְשֵׁיmen_of חֶסֶדkindness נֶאֱסָפִיםare_gathered בְּ אֵיןWithout מֵבִיןconsidering כִּיthat מִfrom פְּנֵיface_of הָ רָעָהevil נֶאֱסַףGathered_is הַthe צַּדִּיקrighteous_one

² יָבוֹאHe_entereth_into שָׁלוֹםpeace יָנוּחוּthey_rest עַלon מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָbeds םtheir הֹלֵךְis_going נְכֹחstraightforward וֹ

³ וְAnd אַתֶּםye קִרְבוּcome_near הֵנָּהhither בְּנֵיsons_of עֹנְנָהa_sorceress זֶרַעseed מְנָאֵףan_adulterer וַEven תִּזְנֶהdost_commit_whoredom

⁴ עַלAgainst מִיwhom תִּתְעַנָּגוּdo_ye_sport_yourselves עַלAgainst מִיwhom תַּרְחִיבוּenlarge_ye פֶהmouth תַּאֲרִיכוּProlong_ye לָשׁוֹןtongue הֲ? לוֹאnot אַתֶּםye יִלְדֵיchildren_of פֶשַׁעtransgression זֶרַעa_seed שָׁקֶרfalse

⁵ הַ נֵּחָמִיםWho_are_inflamed בָּamong אֵלִיםoaks תַּחַתunder כָּלevery עֵץtree רַעֲנָןgreen שֹׁחֲטֵיSlaughtering הַthe יְלָדִיםchildren בַּin נְּחָלִיםvalleys תַּחַתUnder סְעִפֵיclefts_of הַthe סְּלָעִיםrocks

⁶ בְּAmong חַלְּקֵיsmooth_things_of נַחַלa_brook חֶלְקֵportion ךְthy הֵםThey הֵםthey גּוֹרָלֵlot ךְthy גַּםAlso לָto הֶםthem שָׁפַכְתְּthou_hast_poured_out נֶסֶךְan_oblation הֶעֱלִיתThou_hast_caused_to_ascend מִנְחָהa_present הַ? עַלFor אֵלֶּהthese_things אֶנָּחֵםam_I_comforted

⁷ עַלOn הַרa_mountain גָּבֹהַּhigh וְand נִשָּׂאexalted שַׂמְתְּThou_hast_set מִשְׁכָּבֵcouch ךְthy גַּםAlso שָׁםthither עָלִיתthou_hast_gone_up לִto זְבֹּחַmake_a_sacrifice זָבַח

⁸ וְAnd אַחַרbehind הַthe דֶּלֶתdoor וְand הַthe מְּזוּזָהpost שַׂמְתְּThou_hast_set_up זִכְרוֹנֵmemorial ךְthy כִּיFor מֵ אִתִּfrom יMe גִּלִּיתthou_hast_removed וַand תַּעֲלִיgoest_up הִרְחַבְתְּThou_hast_enlarged מִשְׁכָּבֵcouch ךְthy וַAnd תִּכְרָתdost_covenant לָfor ךְthyself מֵamong הֶםthem אָהַבְתְּThou_hast_loved מִשְׁכָּבָcouch םtheir יָד חָזִיתthou_sawest

⁹ וַAnd תָּשֻׁרִיgoest לַto מֶּלֶךְking בַּin שֶּׁמֶןointment וַAnd תַּרְבִּיdost_multiply רִקֻּחָיִperfumes ךְthy וַAnd תְּשַׁלְּחִיsendest צִרַיִambassadors ךְthine עַד מֵ רָחֹקafar_off וַAnd תַּשְׁפִּילִיhumblest_thyself עַדunto שְׁאוֹלSheol

¹⁰ בְּIn רֹבgreatness_of דַּרְכֵּway ךְthy יָגַעַתְּthou_hast_laboured לֹאnot אָמַרְתְּThou_hast_said נוֹאָשׁis_desperate חַיַּתlife_of יָדֵhand ךְthy מָצָאתthou_hast_found עַלTherefore כֵּן לֹאnot חָלִיתthou_hast_been_sick

¹¹ וְAnd אֶת מִיwhom דָּאַגְתְּhast_thou_been_afraid וַand תִּירְאִיfearest כִּיThat תְכַזֵּבִיthou_liest וְand אוֹתִ יMe לֹאnot זָכַרְתְּhast_remembered לֹאnot שַׂמְתְּThou_hast_laid עַלto לִבֵּheart ךְthy הֲ? לֹאnot אֲנִיI מַחְשֶׁהAm_silent וּeven מֵfrom עֹלָםold וְAnd אוֹתִ יMe לֹאnot תִירָאִיthou_fearest

¹² אֲנִיI אַגִּידdeclare צִדְקָתֵrighteousness ךְthy וְand אֶת מַעֲשַׂיִworks ךְthy וְAnd לֹאnot יוֹעִילוּthey_do_profit ךְthee

¹³ בְּWhen זַעֲקֵcriest ךְthou יַצִּילֻlet_deliver ךְthee קִבּוּצַיִgatherings ךְthy וְAnd אֶת כֻּלָּall_of םthem יִשָּׂאcarry_away_doth רוּחַwind יִקַּחTake_away_doth הָבֶלvanity וְAnd הַ חוֹסֶהwhoso_is_trusting בִin יMe יִנְחַלinheriteth אֶרֶץland וְAnd יִירַשׁdoth_possess הַרmountain קָדְשִׁholy יMy

¹⁴ וְAnd אָמַרhe_hath_said סֹלּוּRaise_up סֹלּוּraise_up פַּנּוּprepare דָרֶךְa_way הָרִימוּLift מִכְשׁוֹלa_stumbling-block מִout_of דֶּרֶךְway_of עַמִּpeople יMy

¹⁵ כִּיFor כֹהthus אָמַרsaid רָםhigh וְand נִשָּׂאexalted_One שֹׁכֵןInhabiting עַדeternity וְand קָדוֹשׁholy שְׁמname וֹHis מָרוֹםhigh וְand קָדוֹשׁholy_place אֶשְׁכּוֹןI_dwell וְAnd אֶתwith דַּכָּאbruised וּand שְׁפַלhumble_of רוּחַspirit לְTo הַחֲיוֹתrevive רוּחַspirit_of שְׁפָלִיםhumble וּAnd לְto הַחֲיוֹתrevive לֵבheart_of נִדְכָּאִיםbruised_ones

¹⁶ כִּיFor לֹאnot לְ עוֹלָםto_the_age אָרִיבdo_I_strive וְnor לֹא לָfor נֶצַחever אֶקְּצוֹףam_I_wroth כִּיFor רוּחַspirit מִfrom לְּ פָנַbefore יMe יַעֲטוֹףis_feeble וּAnd נְשָׁמוֹתsouls אֲנִיI עָשִׂיתִיhave_made

¹⁷ בַּFor עֲוֺןiniquity_of בִּצְעdishonest_gain וֹhis קָצַפְתִּיI_have_been_wroth וְand אַכֵּI_smite הוּhim הַסְתֵּרHiding וְand אֶקְצֹףam_wroth וַAnd יֵּלֶךְhe_goeth_on שׁוֹבָבturning_back בְּin דֶרֶךְway_of לִבּheart וֹhis

¹⁸ דְּרָכָיways וHis רָאִיתִיI_have_seen וְand אֶרְפָּאֵI_heal הוּhim וְ אַנְחֵI_lead הוּhim וַAnd אֲשַׁלֵּםrecompense נִחֻמִיםcomforts לto וֹhim וְand לַto אֲבֵלָיmourning_ones וhis

¹⁹ בּוֹרֵאProducing נִיבfruit שְׂפָתָיִםlips שָׁלוֹםPeace שָׁלוֹםpeace לָto רָחוֹקfar_off וְand לַto קָּרוֹבnear אָמַרsaid יְהוָהJehovah וּAnd רְפָאתִיI_have_healed וhim

²⁰ וְAnd הָthe רְשָׁעִיםwicked כַּas יָּםsea נִגְרָשׁdriven_out כִּיFor הַשְׁקֵטto_rest לֹאnot יוּכָלit_is_able וַAnd יִּגְרְשׁוּcast_out מֵימָיwaters וits רֶפֶשׁmire וָand טִיטfilth
