Hosea 13

¹ כְּWhen דַבֵּרspeaketh אֶפְרַיִםEphraim רְתֵתtremblingly נָשָׂאhath_been_lifted_up הוּאHe בְּin יִשְׂרָאֵלIsrael וַWhen יֶּאְשַׁםhe_becometh_guilty בַּin בַּעַלBaal וַ יָּמֹתhe_dieth

² וְAnd עַתָּהnow יוֹסִפוּdo_they_add לַto חֲטֹאsin וַAnd יַּעְשׂוּmake לָto הֶםthem מַסֵּכָהa_molten_image מִof כַּסְפָּsilver םtheir כִּBy תְבוּנָunderstanding םtheir_own עֲצַבִּיםidols מַעֲשֵׂהA_work_of חָרָשִׁיםartizans כֻּלֹּall_of הit לָOf הֶםthem הֵםthey אֹמְרִיםsay זֹבְחֵיwho_sacrificers_among אָדָםmen עֲגָלִיםcalves יִשָּׁקוּlet_them_kiss ן

³ לָTherefore כֵן יִהְיוּthey_are כַּas עֲנַןa_cloud_of בֹּקֶרmorning וְAnd כַas טַּלdew מַשְׁכִּיםrising_early הֹלֵךְgoing_away כְּAs מֹץchaff יְסֹעֵרtossed_about מִout_of גֹּרֶןa_floor וּAnd כְas עָשָׁןsmoke מֵout_of אֲרֻבָּהa_window

⁴ וְAnd אָנֹכִיI יְהוָהJehovah אֱלֹהֶיGod ךָthy מֵfrom אֶרֶץland_of מִצְרָיִםEgypt וֵAnd אלֹהִיםGod זוּלָתִbesides יMe לֹאnot תֵדָעthou_dost_know וּAnd מוֹשִׁיעַa_Saviour אַיִןthere_is_none בִּלְתִּ י

⁵ אֲנִיI יְדַעְתִּיI_have_known ךָthee בַּin מִּדְבָּרa_wilderness בְּIn אֶרֶץa_land_of תַּלְאֻבוֹתdroughts

⁶ כְּAccording_to מַרְעִיתָfeedings םtheir וַ יִּשְׂבָּעוּthey_are_satiated שָׂבְעוּThey_have_been_satiated וַAnd יָּרָםis_lifted_up לִבָּheart םtheir עַלTherefore כֵּן שְׁכֵחוּthey_have_forgotten נִיMe

⁷ וָAnd אֱהִיI_am לָto הֶםthem כְּמוֹas שָׁחַלa_lion כְּAs נָמֵרa_leopard עַלby דֶּרֶךְway אָשׁוּרI_look_out

⁸ אֶפְגְּשֵׁI_do_meet םthem כְּas דֹבa_bear שַׁכּוּלbereaved וְAnd אֶקְרַעI_rend סְגוֹרenclosure_of לִבָּheart םtheir וְAnd אֹכְלֵI_consume םthem שָׁםthere כְּas לָבִיאa_lioness חַיַּתA_beast_of הַthe שָּׂדֶהfield תְּבַקְּעֵdoth_rend םthem

⁹ שִׁחֶתְhast_destroyed ךָthyself יִשְׂרָאֵלIsrael כִּיBut בִin יMe בְ עֶזְרֶhelp ךָthy

¹⁰ אֱהִיWhere מַלְכְּking ךָthy אֵפוֹאnow וְAnd יוֹשִׁיעֲhe_doth_save ךָthee בְּin כָלall עָרֶיcities ךָthy וְAnd שֹׁפְטֶיjudges ךָthy אֲשֶׁרwhom אָמַרְתָּthou_didst_say תְּנָGive ה לִּto יme מֶלֶךְa_king וְand שָׂרִיםheads

¹¹ אֶתֶּןI_give לְto ךָthee מֶלֶךְa_king בְּin אַפִּanger יMine וְAnd אֶקַּחI_take_away בְּin עֶבְרָתִwrath יMy

¹² צָרוּרBound_up עֲוֺןiniquity_of אֶפְרָיִםEphraim צְפוּנָהHidden חַטָּאתsin וֹhis

¹³ חֶבְלֵיPangs_of יוֹלֵדָהa_travailing_woman יָבֹאוּcome לto וֹhim הוּאHe בֵןa_son לֹאnot חָכָםwise כִּיFor עֵתtime לֹאnot יַעֲמֹדhe_remaineth בְּfor מִשְׁבַּרbreaking_forth_of בָּנִיםsons

¹⁴ מִFrom יַּדhand_of שְׁאוֹלSheol אֶפְדֵּI_do_ransom םthem מִFrom מָּוֶתdeath אֶגְאָלֵI_redeem םthem אֱהִיWhere דְבָרֶיplague ךָthy מָוֶתdeath אֱהִיWhere קָטָבְdestruction ךָthy שְׁאוֹלSheol נֹחַםRepentance יִסָּתֵרis_hid מֵfrom עֵינָeyes יMine

¹⁵ כִּיThough הוּאhe בֵּןamong אַחִיםbrethren יַפְרִיאproduceth_fruit יָבוֹאCome_in_doth קָדִיםan_east_wind רוּחַa_wind_of יְהוָהJehovah מִFrom מִּדְבָּרa_wilderness עֹלֶהis_coming_up וְAnd יֵבוֹשׁit_drieth_up מְקוֹרfountain וֹhis וְAnd יֶחֱרַבbecome_dry_doth מַעְיָנspring וֹhis הוּאIt יִשְׁסֶהit_spoileth אוֹצַרa_treasure כָּלevery כְּלִיvessel חֶמְדָּהdesirable
